Requesting some onboarding pointers
I love Hive. My experience exploring content on Hive is such a different one to exploring any other corner on the internet. This isn’t true for everything on here, but for me, generally speaking, the conversations and interactions seem more authentic here. It is something intangible and I have a hard time articulating what it is that I like so much here. I think a big part of it is the community. As a user of Hive you feel like you are a part of something much bigger than yourself.
One of the biggest drawbacks in using Hive for me currently, is the complete lack of people I know personally on the platform. And trust me when I say, it isn’t because I don’t talk about it with others. Now this brings me to the main topic I really wanted to delve into.
As a big fan of Hive, I want to share it with as many others as I can. It is important to me that I convey to other people the value Hive has given me and what it can provide to them. However, it seems I am doing something wrong because I have a hard time getting anyone to care about what I am telling them. I don’t know if it is my delivery or if I am not “engaging their emotions”.
Anyways there are two people in particular I would really like to introduce to Hive. At this point I don’t even care if they sign up, but I do want to present them with a thorough explanation of what Hive is. The two people are my Dad and my older brother. I am going to write about my brother in this post and in my following post I will explain the situation with my father.
So why do I care about sharing Hive with my brother so much?
My brother and his group of friends act and perform in improv theater. They put on shows as well as teach courses on the topic of improvisational comedy. They have a loyal group of fans that seems to all support each other.
As an outsider of their group, I look in and just imagine their group over here on Hive. I fantasize that they create their own outpost with Hive Engine. There their fans can post content and earn the groups native improv token. I know that this will be of huge benefit for them, but I struggle in finding the words to explain how and why.
I am going to my brother’s house tomorrow for a BBQ and his comedy group is going to be there. I plan on telling them about Hive tomorrow because I think they can get a lot out of it.
I am awful at persuasive storytelling and tend to get the opposite of what I am striving for. So I am a little concerned that all I am going to do is annoy everyone by trying to tell them about some crazy crypto thing I am doing.
If anyone is open to it, I would really appreciate some pointers on how I should go about approaching this. Does anyone have any onboarding suggestions?
